Sometimes ago, I went to the market with my mom to get some food stuffs. The cloud was so heavy and soon it will rain. My mom hurried to get some things while I was asked to wait.
While waiting, I began to see how people were moving about carelessly as if they were oblivious of the fact that in no time the rain will pour.
Some were so relaxed, others sauntered the way he or she liked. People had no regard for the warning signs of the rain in it obvious magnitude.
Most of them had an umbrella to cover their goods, others had sales boys and girls to do the up and down when the rain eventually starts. They trusted in one thing or the other that could save them and their goods from the destructive effect of the rain.
Immediately i got a light. The picture that came to me was that of the “close of the age”. It seems as if the handwriting is over every place saying, “the rain of rapture is about to pour”. Oh! My people can’t you see? The Bible in Matt 24:6-12 pointed to this in a way. All what Jesus told his disciples are happening already. But like the people in the market, we have imagined escape route in our hearts.
We have relied on umbrellas of this life to save us. We have chosen to wallow in sin than coming to the saving knowledge of Jesus. Friends are you still ignorant of the times? Please permit me to persuade you, don’t take vain the grace of God.
The grace of God has appeared to all men teaching them to say no to all ungodliness. Dear friends,nothing will be an encumbrance to your eternal doom if you don’t make right your ways. “the cloud is heavy”
