Unplug!

Sometimes you run around like Martha of old when Jesus pays you a visit. He comes as a friend and guest but often time, you forget the principal thing.

Scripture calls it “the good part.”

When Jesus visited the house of his friends(Mary and Martha) in the scripture, it was an amazing moment. I bet you haven’t forgotten the story. Mary ran and gave Jesus a cozy hug, ushered him to the sitting room, and made him sit.

“Hey, Teacher is here.” She must have said to Martha and she took her position beside Jesus’s feet. Her eyes were fixed on him and she couldn’t wait to hear him speak.

Martha hurried to the kitchen after greeting Jesus and she knew it was time. Oh, yes, the time to show Jesus her culinary skills. She smiled as she wore her apron and covered her hair. But she felt left alone when Mary her sister wouldn’t join her for the special cooking session.

“Teacher, tell Mary to join me in the kitchen. She needs to help me mince the meat. You must be hungry and I can’t get it all done by myself,” she said.

Jesus looked at her and he genuinely appreciated her efforts but then she was missing out on something. “Hey Martha,” Jesus called. Mary isn’t wrong to be seated beside my feet right now. You are the one who is wrong because you’ve forgotten that it is time to unplug.

Hey, dear reader, it’s time to unplug. Jesus may appreciate your running around for him but right now that he is your room, he wants you to unplug. Come sit at his feet, He’s got an update to divulge.

You have been plugged all day, doing so many things but there is a good part and that is your personal relationship with Jesus. Your alone time.

Have you noticed his presence yet? He wants your attention right now. Don’t be like Martha, leave the kitchen now and hurry to meet him.
There’s a space for you at his feet. He may not stay for long.

Come on, do it now, just UNPLUG.
